Sugar Highs

Could there have been better weather for Halloween in Oregon?? First we went to downtown Gresham to Trick-or-Treat. Then the kids were so excited to hand out candy we went home and did that for about an hour. Then we hit up the neighborhood. The result of great weather was that it was possible to go to lots of houses, meaning LOTS of candy. I thought I had a great idea so we wouldn't still be battling candy every day until Christmas. I offered a trade-in. For every 10 pieces of candy they turned in to me they could have a dollar to spend at the dollar store. Great plan. They each parted with 20 pieces of candy, so Friday night we headed off to the dollar store. In the car on the way there Ainsley says, "the first aisle I'm going to is the candy one!" Uhhh... no, you miss understood the terms of the trade-in.

Hudson loves police officers (really anyone in uniform) so when we saw Jeff Durbin downtown we definitely had to do a picture. The next morning Hudson said, "Remember when I got my picture with Officer Durbin?" Me, "Yes." Hudson, "Is he a good guy or a bad guy?" Me, "A good guy." Hudson, "Awwww, that's too bad."
We managed to get a picture of all three of them together on the bench at the Carls.
"I don't know what is inside of these wrappers, but I think I might like it."

Had the camera been handy, we would have had nearly an identical picture of Weston knawing on the wrapper of a butterfinger bar. He got it open and was devastated when we took it away (talk about your early temper tantrum!). Well, that's one way to discover a peanut allergy.
